PINK PEPPER

Origin

Pink Pepper, a gourmet spice, has its origins in South America. Pink peppercorns are left on the vine, turning from red to yellow to ripened red. They are harvested when ripe.

How to Store

Buy whole berries and store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

Taste

Sweetly aromatic, as compared with White or Black Pepper, but with a more benign and fruity taste.

Crista Tips

Use sparingly but immediately after grinding at the end of cooking for maximum flavor. Pink Pepper goes best with fish and other rich foods such as game and poultry. Use within two weeks of opening the bottle.

CRISTA QUALITY CONTROL TIP:

Spices should ideally be stored between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. Under ideal conditions, ground spices will keep for 1 year and whole spices for 1 to 2 years. Tightly close the container immediately after use and return it to a cold storage space as soon as possible.
